About Me

Ava Parker

Hi, MY NAME IS Ava Parker,

and welcome to my little corner of the internet—DailyHouseRecipes.

I live in New York City, where the kitchen is always bustling, the coffee is always brewing, and life never really slows down. If you’re a busy mom juggling a million things, a college student on your third instant noodle meal this week, or someone just trying to get a home-cooked dinner on the table after a long day—you are so in the right place.

Cooking didn’t come naturally to me. In fact, I used to burn toast and undercook pasta (yes, both in the same meal). But once I had my first child at 24, something in me changed. I didn’t just want to feed my family—I wanted to nourish them, surprise them, and maybe even create a few memories around the dinner table. That desire slowly turned into a love affair with cooking: simple, heartwarming, totally doable cooking.

I’m not a classically trained chef. I’ve never been to culinary school. What I am is someone who has learned, dish by dish, what works in real life—in real kitchens, with screaming toddlers, tight budgets, picky eaters, and only 30 minutes before bedtime. My kitchen is full of shortcuts, frozen veggies, spice jars that have been passed down from my grandmother, and the occasional pancake shaped like a dinosaur (for the kids, of course… though I secretly love them too).

DailyHouseRecipes started as a little notebook on my fridge where I scribbled down the recipes that actually worked. The ones that didn’t use ten pans. The ones that made my kids smile. The ones that helped me feel like, okay, I’m doing this mom thing. Over time, I started sharing them with friends, then online, and now here we are.

I believe cooking should be joyful, not stressful. That a boxed mix is still a win. That you don’t need fancy gadgets to make something delicious. And that a home-cooked meal—even if it’s just scrambled eggs with toast—is always worth celebrating.

So whether you’re here looking for simple meals, freezer-friendly favorites, or just a bit of motivation to try something new, I hope you find something that makes your life a little easier and your table a little fuller.

From my chaotic, cozy kitchen to yours—welcome!
